WE THOUGHT WE WERE COLLECTING PLACES
Somewhere along the way, we realized the destination was never the whole story. For years, I thought we were traveling because we loved seeing the world. And we do. We love the feeling of arriving somewhere we’ve never been. The first walk through a new city. The unfamiliar food. The architecture. The history. The people. The moment when something you’ve only seen in photographs is suddenly standing in front of you. So we kept going. New cities. New countries. New stamps in our passports. We thought we were collecting places. But somewhere along the way, I realized that in those places, we were collecting pieces of us. A conversation would follow us home. A moment would challenge something we thought we knew. A person we might never see again would leave us seeing people differently. Sometimes the lesson was profound. Sometimes it was quiet. Sometimes it didn’t reveal itself until years later. And eventually, we began to understand that the most meaningful souvenirs were rarely the things we carried home in our luggage. They were the questions. The perspective. The courage to see something differently. The stories we found ourselves telling years later. The parts of ourselves we met for the first time because we had stepped outside of what was familiar. That is what travel has become for us. Not simply movement across a map, but movement within ourselves. And once we saw that, we started noticing something else: Not every journey requires an airplane. A relationship can take you somewhere. Parenthood can take you somewhere. Grief can take you somewhere. A conversation can take you somewhere. So can curiosity. Fear. Faith. Love. Reinvention. Beginning again. Some passages happen between countries. Others happen between who you were and who you are becoming. That is what SapioPassport is really about. The places we go. The people we meet. The conversations that stay with us. The moments that move us. The passages that change us. And the stories we carry forward because of them. Because maybe the question was never only: **Where did you go?** Maybe the better questions are: **What did it show you?** **What did it change in you?** And ultimately— **Who did it help you become?**
